Reflection: DSN at 5 Years – A Grace-Filled Milestone
On this day, five years ago, a humble seed was sown. An idea to feed the soul each day with a simple Word. Today, Daily Scriptural Nuggets turns five. What a journey of grace it has been. From the quiet corners of Nigeria to screens across the world, these daily reflections have echoed into hearts, stirred consciences, and lifted weary spirits. We give thanks.
And fittingly, today’s Word does not mince words.
Jesus rebukes cities that saw His miracles but refused to change. Chorazin. Bethsaida. Capernaum. Places blessed with divine light, yet unmoved. It’s a sobering mirror for us. How many times have we encountered God—in His Word, in the Eucharist, in life’s mercies—and still hardened our hearts?
The First Reading shows us Moses’ dramatic escape from death, saved from the waters, raised in Pharaoh’s palace, yet driven by a deep stirring for justice. God’s revelation begins with rescue—but it demands a response.
Fr. Jude’s nugget cuts deep: “Greater revelation demands greater responsibility.” God doesn’t show us more just to impress us. He does it to invite us. Call us deeper. Shape us.
So what does God require of you today?
Not perfection. But sincerity. Faithful obedience. A heart that listens. A life that turns. A soul that says yes.
May today not pass like Capernaum’s yesterday.

Prayer
Lord,
You have been faithful to me over the years.
Help me not to grow familiar with Your mercy.
Keep me from spiritual numbness.
Give me a heart that responds to Your voice.
Make me faithful, honest, and open.
Amen.
