Reflection:
“All who touched His cloak were completely healed.” (Mt. 14:36)
The world today is full of people who are spiritually bleeding, wounded by betrayal, illness, loss, poverty, depression, guilt, and fear. And many are asking: Can Jesus still heal? Does He still see me?
The Gospel says yes. The people who came to Jesus that day didn’t give long speeches or offer theological arguments. They simply reached out in faith, believing that even a touch would be enough. And it was. Scripture says they were completely healed.
But it’s not always easy to believe, is it? Like Peter on the water, we start strong, then panic when the wind rises. Doubt whispers: What if God doesn’t show up this time? What if I’m not worthy? Yet Jesus doesn’t condemn Peter for sinking, He lifts him. He understands the fragility of our faith and still responds with love.
And in the first reading, Moses intercedes for Miriam’s healing. Even when we are the cause of our suffering, God remains merciful. The wounds of shame and rebellion don’t push Him away, they draw His compassion.
So, Child of God, what are you waiting for? What area of your life needs that healing touch? Don’t just admire Jesus from afar. Reach out—honestly, desperately, humbly.
Faith is not the absence of fear. It is the courage to touch Him through it.
Come to Him with your brokenness. Touch His cloak with your cry. Let Him do for you what no one else can.
