Reflection – Called to Be Ministers of God’s Love
The call to discipleship is more than words. It is action. It is presence. It is care.
In today’s Gospel, Jesus sends out His apostles with a clear instruction: “As you go, proclaim that the Kingdom of Heaven is at hand.” But He doesn’t stop at preaching. He tells them to heal, to cleanse, to raise up, to give. In other words, make God’s love visible. Tangible. Real.
In the First Reading, Joseph, once sold into slavery, now stands before the very brothers who betrayed him. But what he offers is not revenge. He offers love. Forgiveness. Restoration. Through him, God’s mercy becomes flesh.
Fr. Bruno Ihekaozor, C.S.Sp, invites us into this same mission:
“As apostles of Christ, we are called to minister to the needs of the people. We are called to make God’s love evident to His people and to be ministers of God’s love and care.”
This means listening to the weary. Feeding the hungry. Comforting the broken. Speaking peace where there is fear. It’s not just about quoting scripture—it’s about living it, embodying it.
You are God’s hands today. His voice. His presence.
Who around you needs to feel His love?
🙏🏽
Prayer
Lord Jesus,
You have loved me patiently and generously.
Make me an instrument of that love to others.
Let me not be blind to the pain around me.
Let my words heal. Let my presence comfort.
Help me reveal Your Kingdom—not only in speech, but in action.
Amen.
